It's college football Bowl Season, so U.S. News & World Report put together a list of "The Worst College Bowl Sponsors." The list includes some of my personal favorites, including:- The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl
- The Roady's Humanitarian Bowl
- The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
- The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
When it comes to sports sponsorship, I'm all for putting the brand front-and-center (especially when a company is putting down a huge chunk of change to sponsor a college football game). But have we lost our sense of creativity? Isn't there a better way of highlighting a brand than plopping it in front of the game's name. At some point, the brand just looks ridiculous.
