Cheers!

Happy New Year! Here's to a happy, healthy and active 2010.

Cheers to all of our clients, partners, employees and friends. See you next year!

The Tidy Bowl

It's college football Bowl Season, so U.S. News & World Report put together a list of "The Worst College Bowl Sponsors." The list includes some of my personal favorites, including:
  • The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl

  • The Roady's Humanitarian Bowl

  • The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

  • The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl

When it comes to sports sponsorship, I'm all for putting the brand front-and-center (especially when a company is putting down a huge chunk of change to sponsor a college football game). But have we lost our sense of creativity? Isn't there a better way of highlighting a brand than plopping it in front of the game's name. At some point, the brand just looks ridiculous.

Bad TV

Here's a list of AOL's worst TV commercials of the decade. I have to agree with most of the picks...they are awful.I think Boost Mobile wins the prize with its "Bicycle" ad. That spot grosses me out every time I see it. What's your top pick for worst TV spot of the year?

Engage Consumers with Online Sweeps

Looking for a great way to engage your customers while driving traffic to your web site? Look no further than an online sweepstakes or giveaway.

When properly planned and executed, a sweepstakes can help build a connection with consumers, while ultimately encouraging a purchase or desired action.

LIVESTRONG Fitness is an example of one brand that's doing it right. Its "18 Days of LIVESTRONG Fitness" sweepstakes gives consumers a chance to win cool LIVESTRONG merchandise, as well as a Grand Prize of a treadmill or indoor cycle. The promotion, which kicked off today and runs through the end of the year, is inteneded to build excitement for the new line of LIVESTRONG Fitness equipment, which launched at Dick's Sporting Goods this fall.

So what are some of the benefits of conducting your own online sweepstakes?
  • Generate increased traffic to your Web site

  • Positive engagment with your brand

  • Viral opportunities (pass along to a friend)

  • Opt-in database for future marketing efforts

  • Increased sales

  • Increased brand awareness

Do you need some help coordinating your next online sweepstakes or giveaway? If so, give us a call at 262.789.7630, 133.

Camping is on the Rise

Participation in camping and RV'ing is on the rise according to the "Special Report on Camping" conducted by The Outdoor Foundation and The Coleman Co.

This increase in participation should really come as no surprise. During tough economic times, consumers look to stay close to home (staycations). They seek out local, low-cost alternatives, which benefits campgrounds. In addition, consumers want to connect with family and friends during times of uncertainty. What better way to connect then roasting marshmallows over a campfire.
